Being a business and community leader means that people are listening to your story of success and are eager to know how you reached your level of success. This is why it is very important for you when telling your success story to place the emphasis on the power of God and his grace that keeps you during the storms of life rather than all the bad things you did and how bad it was in the storm. Whatever you emphasize is the area your mind is focusing on and causing others to place their focus. Whatever you focus your mind on, you are giving energy to it, thus empowering it. Allow your story to emphasize the grace and power of God and not the power of the enemy and your weakness in reading.
Create your story to give more attention and credit to all the negative you did in your past or share the positive side about how God keeps you from experiencing more issues than you did. The greater of the two testimonies is that you were mentally and spiritually strong enough to not have yielded to the devil or deceived by his deceptive ways. That’s Jesus' testimony. Most leaders share their stories glorifying their pain and the pain they caused so many other people. This only translates to the listener that you were such a pawn to the negative forces of life. Bragging about all of the wrong behavior that you did while in mental chains of ignorance and confusion sends the message to those who follow you to focus on how much the negative forces were manipulating your life. When in reality the focus of your story should be on how much the power of God and his grace persevered you while you were in that low-level place of life. That’s the better of the two if you are going to admire someone.
Not the thug, drug dealer, gangster, mobster, pimp, drug addict, deep in the lion’s den doing everything ungodly fully yielded and submitted and. serving him and. his kingdom. His pawn puppet, fool jester because you were weak-minded, easily tricked loved sin, loved money…Only by God’s grace.
